Estée Lauder (EL) Reports Earnings Tomorrow: What To Expect

Beauty products company Estée Lauder (NYSE:EL) will be announcing earnings results this Thursday before the bell. Here’s what to expect.

Estée Lauder met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $3.41 billion, down 11.9% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with a solid beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates but full-year EPS guidance missing analysts’ expectations.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Estée Lauder’s revenue to be flat year on year at $3.38 billion, improving from the 4.5% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.17 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Estée Lauder has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates three times over the last two years.

Looking at Estée Lauder’s peers in the consumer staples segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. USANA delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 6.7%, meeting analysts’ expectations, and Lamb Weston reported flat revenue, topping estimates by 2.6%. USANA traded down 1.5% following the results while Lamb Weston was up 11.4%.
