As artificial intelligence fundamentally transforms semiconductor design and system innovation, DAC, The Chips to Systems Conference, will convene in Long Beach, California, at the Long Beach Convention Center, July 26–29, 2026, for the first time in its 63-year history. It marks a milestone year defined by record participation and an AI-driven shift across the design ecosystem.

The Poster Gladiator competition was added to the DAC program in 2021 and recognizes the hard work and preparation the poster submitters have completed as part of the Engineering Track. The competition is held daily at the DAC Pavilion, and each Poster Gladiator finalist presents his or her submitted and approved poster presentation in a speed round. Finalists present in front of the Pavilion audience and a panel of expert industry judges. Both the audience and judges will determine the fate of each gladiator and decide the winner.

The Design Automation Conference (DAC), the only event devoted to electronic design and design automation of electronic circuits and systems, has named Jörg Henkel of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology as the 60th DAC General Chair. Vivek De, Fellow, and Director of Circuit Technology Research at Intel Labs, will join Jörg as Vice Chair for the 2023 conference. Under their leadership, the DAC Executive Committee (EC) will oversee the exhibition and trade show, plan the technical program, establish new initiatives, and manage conference operations and publicity. A distinctive and diverse group of volunteers has been selected from across the semiconductor, research, embedded systems and electronic design automation (EDA) industries to join the 2023 EC.

Michelle Clancy, longtime president and CEO of Cayenne Global and marketing leader in the EDA sector, was selected as the 2022 recipient of the Marie R. Pistilli Women in Electronic Design Award, a prestigious annual honor that recognizes individuals who have significantly helped advance women in electronic design. The award is named for the late Marie R. Pistilli, co-founder of DAC, who placed a high value on equality, diversity, and acceptance.

The collective success of the electronics industry has been built on a foundation of individual achievements, with each innovation standing on the shoulders of previous breakthroughs. Much of this has emerged at the annual Design Automation Conference, the largest industry event focused on research and technology for the design and the design automation of electronic chips to systems. RISC-V International and the Design Automation Conference (DAC) today announced the co-location of the 2021 RISC-V Summit with the 58th DAC at Moscone West in San Francisco in December 2021. Both events will feature hybrid in-person and virtual activities to reach a global audience.
