Granite (NYSEGVA) announced an approximately $42 million design-build contract by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) for a sitework and infrastructure project related to the Relay Ground Station-Asia (RGS-A) program at Naval Base Guam. Granite (NYSEGVA) announced the commencement of the approximately $45 million Atlantic Base Refurbishment (ABR) project in Seattle, Washington. This comprehensive initiative aims to modernize and enhance the infrastructure of King County Metro’s (KCM) six-acre trolley bus parking and maintenance facility.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has announced the signing of a $34 million contract to implement seismic improvements to the Oakland International Airport (OAK) Perimeter Dike. This critical infrastructure project is designed to protect the airport runway from water intrusion from the adjacent San Francisco Bay. Granite Real Estate Investment Trust (“Granite REIT”) and Granite REIT Inc. (“Granite GP” and, together with Granite REIT, “Granite”) (TSX: GRT.UN / NYSE: GRP.U) announced today that the previously announced court approved plan of arrangement to simplify Granite’s capital structure by replacing its current stapled unit structure with a conventional REIT trust unit structure (the “Arrangement”), is expected to be completed and become effective on or about October 1, 2024 (the “Effective Date”).

The approximately $32 million project was awarded by the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County and is funded by federal and local fuel tax funds.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $45 million contract to reconstruct and modernize the John Wilkie Safety Roadside Rest Area along the Interstate 40 (I-40) corridor by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Project funding will come from Caltrans and was included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $38 million contract (Segment 4E South) by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to add peak-hour High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes and reconstruct all elements of the existing Highway 101 through southern Santa Barbara. Project funding is to come from Caltrans and local sources and was included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $27 million contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to widen shoulders and resurface a 19-mile stretch of State Route 33 (SR33) in Kern County, California. Project funding to come from Caltrans and was included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $20 million contract by the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) to construct the next segment of what will ultimately be a 40-mile pathway in Southern California from Palm Springs to Thermal. This project completes segments in the cities of Palm Springs and Cathedral City. Project funding comes from CVAG and will be included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) announced Lehman-Roberts, a Granite company, has been selected as a subcontractor by Dement Construction Company, LLC on a project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in the ongoing infrastructure upgrade project where Interstate 22 terminates into State Route 4 (SR 4) and U.S. Route 78 (US 78) southeast of downtown Memphis. Funded by Federal and TDOT funds, Lehman-Roberts’ portion of the contract is approximately $21 million and will be included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) announced that the GKJV-II joint venture team comprised of Granite and Kraemer North America will remove and replace the Lafayette Bascule Bridge in Michigan. The contract worth approximately $113 million was awarded the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The project will be funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and MDOT and will be included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $16 million contract by the City of Salinas to improve traffic flow on a key thoroughfare between residential areas and Highway 101.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $25 million contract by the City of Everett to remove and replace the Edgewater Creek Bridge. The project will be funded by federal grants and local funds, and will be included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded a subcontract worth approximately $31 million by prime contractor Skanska USA, to work on Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Sound Transit’s highway project to provide roadway improvements along a four-and-a-half-mile corridor on Interstate 405 (I-405) in Bothell, WA. Granite (NYSEGVA) successfully finished preconstruction services and, on February 1, 2024, was awarded the final $112 million construction option for the Polychrome Area Improvements Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Denali National Park, Alaska. This last construction award completes the scope of work the National Park Service (NPS) has planned for the project. The combined value of all awarded options is $207,791,533.

Granite (NYSEGVA) announced that the American River Constructors (ARC) joint venture team comprised of Granite and California Engineering Contractors has been awarded another contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the American River Bridge Rehabilitation Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project in Sacramento, California. A CM/GC Preconstruction Service contract has been underway since January 2021 and was recently completed. In addition, three child contracts totaling $70 million have been executed for access, clearing, steel piling and girder procurement, and bridge substructure construction. The newest contract is a $131 million parent project contract to construct the superstructure for the replacement of the existing bridge deck in three stages. The contract was included in Granite’s second-quarter 2023 CAP and is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2026.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $45 million contract by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to widen and improve State Route 108 (SR-108) in Davis County, Utah. Funded by State and Federal sources, the project will be included in Granite's third-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded Options W.3A, W.3B and W.4 for the Polychrome Area Improvements Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Denali National Park in Alaska. These construction options, with a combined value of $24,586,571, complete long-lead procurements, fabrication of the steel truss bridge, and construction engineering and fabrication of temporary works for a bridge launching system. This combination of awards brings the total value of awarded options and modifications to $95,634,019 since preconstruction began in January 2023. The final package of work remaining to be negotiated, Option Y, includes supply of miscellaneous materials, erection of the bridge, construction of back walls and approaches, and installation of the thermosyphon system. Option Y design is complete, and negotiation for the construction contract is expected to take place in November this year.

The approximately $73 million project was awarded and funded by the Provo River Water Users Association (PRWUA).

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $72 million contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to build auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder facilities on Highway 1 between Bay/Porter and State Park Drive in Capitola, California. Funded by the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (SCCRTC), with Local Measure D-Highway Corridor funds, Senate Bill 1 grants, and other SCCRTC discretionary funds, the project was included in Granite's second quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $215 million contract by the city of Akron, Ohio to construct the Northside Interceptor Tunnel Project (NSIT) to aid in preventing combined sewer overflows from entering the Cuyahoga River during typical storms. Project funding will come from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) and is expected to be included in Granite’s third-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded Option X for the Polychrome Area Improvements Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Denali National Park in Alaska. This construction option is $51.5M, bringing the total value of awarded options to $67M since preconstruction began in January 2023. The overall contract is broken into three major options; Option W for long-lead materials procurements made as the design progressed, Option X for earthwork and staging, and Option Y for bridge construction. Detailed scope for the newly awarded Option X includes mobilization of equipment, setup of a remote worker camp in an existing National Parks Service material supply area, construction of contractor facilities and initial staging areas along the environmentally and culturally sensitive Denali Park Road, pioneering access to the site and across the landslide, performing earthwork and blasting of adjacent rock slopes, and rock bolting for slope stabilization.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has received approval from the Utah Department of Air Quality (UDAQ) to begin the public comment period as part of Granite’s Parleys I-80 South Quarry Small Mine Air Permit application. During this rigorous application process, the application undergoes a comprehensive 30-day comment period, allowing the public to provide valuable input.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded the preconstruction contract for Parks Highway MP 319-325, the estimated value for construction is $65 million. The project will be in collaboration with Alaska DOT & PF and its designer, Michael Baker International, to optimize the design, minimize right-of-way acquisition, improve constructability, and identify efficiency opportunities during this highway's reconstruction.

The project, valued at approximately $58 million, is an extension of the company’s award-winning Pyramid and McCarran Intersection Improvement Project, completed in 2017. Funding will come from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and was included in Granite’s first-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) has been awarded an approximately $173 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Sacramento District, to construct various elements along the Sacramento River in California. Project funding will come from the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 and other sources and will be included in Granite’s second-quarter CAP.

Granite (NYSEGVA) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Coast Mountain Resources (2020) Ltd., a construction aggregate producer based in British Columbia, Canada on Malahat First Nation land. Coast Mountain Resources operates the Bamberton Quarry on Vancouver Island, which is strategically located on the deep water of the Saanich Inlet. Granite has been a customer of the quarry due to its high-quality aggregate and strategic proximity to our home markets.
